Privacy Policy
This policy describes the Currency Converter app for iPhone and iPad (also listed as “Currency Converter- Foreign XE”). The app converts currencies, precious metals, and a few cryptocurrencies. It does not require an account.
Information we collect
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, location, or advertising identifier. The app does not include advertising or analytics tracking.
Settings you choose, such as pinned currencies, decimal places, and whether the amount clears after a conversion, are stored only on your device. Cached exchange rates are stored only on your device. A count of how many times you have opened the app is also stored on your device so the app can ask for an App Store review. None of this is sent to us.
Exchange rates
To show current rates and price history, the app requests public data from:
- ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) for currency rates
- gold-api.com for gold, silver, platinum, and palladium
- Yahoo Finance for price history and cryptocurrency prices
Those requests include the currency or metal being looked up. The service that answers the request can see a normal internet connection, including an IP address. The app does not add your name, email, or an advertising identifier to the request, and we do not receive a copy of that connection data.
Sharing and email
If you tap Share, the iOS share sheet opens and you choose where the link goes. If you tap Contact, your mail app opens a message to contact@greenlake.co. We receive that message only if you send it.
Apple
The app may ask you to rate it through Apple’s review prompt. Apple handles that request under its own privacy policy.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
